The Center for Social Capital, Inc. received a grant to fund the National Center on Self-Employment, Business Ownership, and Telecommuting (84.263E). The purpose of this Center is to build the capacity of Federal and State public agencies and private entities to support people with disabilities in achieving self-employment, business ownership, or telecommuting as employment outcomes. Two specific objectives will guide the Center's activities:
- Increase the supply of trained personnel available to public and private agencies by developing, piloting, and disseminating a curriculum on the evidence-based practices of self-employment, business ownership, and telecommuting.
- Maintain and improve the skill, knowledge, and quality of rehabilitation personnel by developing, evaluating, and widely disseminating short term training and resources on the evidence-based practices of self-employment, business ownership, and telecommuting.
